Q:Our family are planning a holiday. What do we need to do?
A: Contact the young person's Case Worker.
If there is a plan for the child to join your family holiday, agrement must be reached regarding the responsibiltiies of all. NTFaC must provide you with written authorisation if the travel is to be interstate. Allow a reasonable period for your planning and for NT Family and Children to work with you to reach an outcome most suited to the needs and wellbeing of the young person in your care.
If you need alternate arrangements for the young person in care while your family is away, alert the Case Worker to this and allow reasonable time for suitable arrangements to be made.
Q:Who do I need to talk to at NT Family and Children?
A: If your query concerns your family, home situation or support needs and you have a Placement Support Person (Casuarina and Alice Springs only). Anything regarding the child or young person in your care, their needs or day-to-day arangements, contact their Case Worker.
Q:What if I don't know who the Case Worker is?
A: You should be given the Case Worker's name when the placement begins, however sometimes things do change. Call your NTFaC Office and ask for the Case Worker of ....[give child's name]
